Gray Catbirds are one of those species that is very uncommon anywhere else in Newfoundland, but is often found in the southwest region. At least four individuals were found during our stay, including this one that was singing away on the Red Rocks Road.

  1. Got a nesting pair on my property in cape ray. Didn’t know what they were until I posted a pic and someone told me.

    • That’s excellent, and a very important record! Did you notice any evidence of successful breeding, such as very young birds or even the parents carrying food? Such information would be very helpful since there are only a handful of confirmed breeding records for the island at the moment.
