The pack ice may have receded as spring wore on, but more frigid visitors from the north took their place. Newfoundland had another excellent iceberg season in 2017 – nd one of the early highlights was this mammoth berg that perched itself in Ferryland (an hour south of St. John’s). Photos of this iceberg went “viral”, showing up in newsfeeds, newspapers and TV newscasts all over the world. I’ve seen LOTS of bergs in my life, but I have to admit that this one was pretty cool!
