Status: Rare (Less than annual)

Origins: Breeds in wetlands of the western & mid-western United States, southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. The winter range extends throughout Mexico and the southern United States.

  2. Cape Broyle, August 21, 2000
  3. Goulds (St. John’s), August 22, 2000 (apparently different than previous)
  4. Kelligrews, August 26, 2000 (presumed same as previous)
  5. Long Beach (near Cape Race), September 7, 2000
  6. Picadilly Provincial Park (Port au Port Peninsula), June 5-7, 2002
  7. Frenchman’s Cove (Burin Peninsula), August 3-27, 2003
  8. South River (Conception Bay), August 29-31, 2011
  9. Lamaline (Burin Peninsula), August 5, 2012 (reportedly present more than week)
  10. Biscay Bay, September 1, 2012
  11. Cape St. Mary’s, September 7-9, 2012
