Caprimulgus carolinensis
Status: Very Rare (< 5 records)
Origins: Breeds in the southeast United States and eastern Mexico, wintering further south to Columbia.
Record Details: One record for Newfoundland – an individual picked up alive near Ferryland lighthouse on October 11, 1988. It later died at a rehabilitation centre in Salmonier Nature Park.
