Payment, Deposit and Refund Policy

Private Tours & Excursions

Date(s) for private day tours are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of $100 (for three or less people; a prorated deposit may be requested for larger or longer bookings). Deposits are fully refundable if Bird•The•Rock cancels at any time, or if the client cancels more than six weeks prior to the tour date. Deposits are 50% refundable if the client cancels more than 7 days prior to the tour date, and non-refundable if the client cancels 7 or fewer days prior to the tour date. The balance owed is due on the day of the tour.

Small Group Tours

Space(s) in a small group tour are confirmed upon receipt of a deposit of $50/person (per day). Deposits are fully refundable if Bird•The•Rock has to cancel at any time, or if the client cancels more than six weeks prior to the tour date. Deposits are 50% refundable if the client cancels more than seven days prior to the tour date, and non-refundable if the client cancels seven or fewer days prior to the tour date. The balance owed is due on the day of the tour.

Large Group and Chartered Tours

Deposits for large group or chartered tours will be determined on a case-by-case basis (typically amounting to 15-25% of total quoted cost). Deposits are fully refundable if Bird•The•Rock has to cancel at any time, and 50% refundable if the client cancels more than six months ahead of the scheduled tour date. The balance owed is due 90 (>$10,000 balance) or 60 (<$10,000 balance) days prior to the scheduled tour date and is fully refundable (minus deposit) if Bird•The•Rock has to cancel at any time; 50% refundable if the client cancels more than 30 days prior to the scheduled start date. A refund of less than this amount may be offered for cancellations 30 or fewer days prior to the scheduled start date.

Custom Itinerary and Trip Planning Services

A 50% deposit for custom itinerary and trip planning services will be requested after initial consulting and proposal of a draft itinerary outline. Deposits are refundable only if Bird•The•Rock is unable to fulfill the agreed upon services; non-refundable if the client cancels at any time. The balance owing is due and will be requested prior to delivery of the final product.
